Biophysical characterization

Biophysical Characterization

Biophysical characterization to provide i) rapid and reliable characterization of fibrillar structure at all structural levels above atomic resolution, ii) multidisciplinary analysis of protein-membrane interactions, iii) a robust understanding of the conditions affecting fibril structure and facilitate preparation of homogeneous highly ordered fibril samples, iv) methods for characterizing fibrils in complex systems both in vitro and in vivo, v) access to prefibrillar aggregates and an in-depth study of the biophysical and physiological roles. This will require refinement of existing methods and sample handling procedures. In addition we will to an increasing extent exploit electrophysiological techniques and microscopy-spectroscopy combinations through collaboration with external partners.
